Link
Inline navigation inside a sentence.
Specimen
An internal link routes client-side, while an external link leaves the site entirely.
Senior Product Designer at 4flow (opens in a new tab).
Props
| Prop | Type | Note |
|---|---|---|
| to | string | Internal path — renders a router Link. |
| href | string | External destination — renders a plain anchor. |
| tone | "default" | "brand" | brand carries an outside organisation's colour — an employer, a client. |
| external | boolean | Opens in a new tab: adds target/rel, the trailing mark, and an announcement. |
Use it for
- Navigation inside running prose.
- Anywhere the destination matters more than the action.
Do not use it for
- As a button for an action that changes state.
- Stripping the underline — it is the only affordance a link has inside text.
